The beer list has been finalised, now just await with baited breath for the first pours:
Without a Paddle Brewing – Pier Pressure – 5% - Kolsch
Let’s call it what it is, an absolute straight up banger of a Kolsch! We’ve been waiting for an excuse to get these a beer on the taps, so what better excuse to get this perfect balance of tradition with a modern twist than Hoptoberfest. Lightly floral and spicy hops, soft and sweet malts, with a fruity yeast contribution.
Flotzinger – Weis’n Marzen – 5.8% - Märzen
The oldest brewery and the only remaining private brewery in Rosenheim, family-run since 1543. Traditionally made, mildly malty aroma, hopped with classic hop varieties from the Hallertau and Tettnang on Lake Constance, and oh so soft on the finish. The right beer for every celebration, hence why it’s here!
Paulaner – Oktoberfest – 5.8% - Märzen/Festbier
A byword for Festbier, a true institution in Munich. Full of October sunshine, strong and golden. The perfect balance of a light taste of hops and a strong note of malt. A feast of a beer, which always goes down well. This beer is only brewed for the Oktoberfest, that’s where it belongs, but it slots quite nicely into Hoptoberfest too.
Pohjala – North Star – 5% - Schwarzbier/Black Lager
One of the champions of dark beer brewing, there stouts and porters are almost second to none. So, when we saw they had a Schwarzbier how could we resist. Shining crisp and smooth, with lovely warming roasted malts. Deep dark colours showing hints of ruby glinting through. This is something special.
Newbarns – Festival Bier – 5.7% - Festbier
Haná, Plumage Archer, Scotch Annat, Scotch Common, Maris Otter, Golden Promise, Bere, Chevallier, Barke and Isaria. A blend of the best malts on offer today makes for this incredible beer, Newbarns are champions of heritage grains. All you could dream of from a festbier, lifted to oh such high heights!
Cloudwater – Festbier – 5% - Festbier
Hints of honey and marmalade glide together in the Manchester giant’s classic lager, all rounded together with gentle touches of toasty malts. Care and love go into every aspect of Cloudwater, and nothing shows this off more than a glass of one of their lagers.
Donzoko – Festbier – 5.6% - Festbier
The king of British lager presents the king of the Donzoko lineup. Pilsner malt, a little Vienna, a little Munich, a decoction mash, Tettnang and Blanc hops come together beautifully. Most definitely a beer worth celebrating.
Braybrooke – Harvest Festbier – 5.6% - Märzen
Based on a working farm, Braybrooke celebrate the harvest with a festival, and brewed this Festbier especially for the occasion. Based on the classic Märzen served at Oktoberfest for nearly a century, it’s a celebration of malt: juicy, rich, with notes of freshly baked bread and marzipan. With just enough hops to balance out the malt and keep it from being too sweet. Slowly matured over 45 days.
Paulaner – Weissbier – 5.5% - Hefeweizen
There’s more to German beer than just lager. Naturally cloudy and shining silky gold under a head of foam. At the first mouthful this weissbier classic has a mild aroma of banana, a trace of mango and pineapple balancing between sweet and bitter. It is a typical beer garden beer, which brings people together all over the world.
Schlenkerla – Rauchbier Marzen – 5.1% - Rauchbier / Smoked Lager
Bamberg brewery Schlenkerla are renowned for one particular style: Rauchbier, or ‘smoke beer’. A thoroughly traditional operation, drying their own malt over beechwood log fires. That makes for one tasty, smoky brew. This classic Bamberg beer has a distinct aroma through its palate to a clean, dry finish and a wonderful flavour which may come as a bit of a shock at first!
